Chalets, apartment or hotel?

Chalets, apartment or hotel?

Why choose a ski chalet or apartment as opposed to a hotel?

Many people see a hotel as the easy choice, this is because the issue of easy food and room cleaning each day are parmaount to their enjoyment. The negatives are of course: Space, timed serving of food and price! A bottle of wine can cost 1/3 of the price when bought in the local supermarket!

Often people go skiing in groups or larger parties of up to 20. This can prove to be very expensive if each individual needs to book a room and is unlikely to see many people booking together and staying as one party of family unit.

A large self catering or catered chalet is the answer and can provide spectacular luxury with sauna's swimming pools and all manner of extras you don;t get in hotel.

Catered chalets are even better as all the comforts of a hotel are supplied, but with added space and flexbility, although food still needs to be timed.

Choosing a chalet is also dependent on location. Ideally everybody wants to ski in and ski out! No walking to ski lifts or using buses. Many hotels are located in town or village centres of course whereas with a little hunting chalets and apartments may be much closer to the snowy trails!
